This website is to educate/share familiar stories with families/individuals in similar situations to my family. As someone who didn’t know too much about autism spectrum disorder at all to someone with a grandchild who was diagnosed as a non-verbal level 3 autistic child with a global developmental delay at the fresh age of two and now has lots of knowledge in the area. My granddaughter Gracelynn has been diagnosed for about a year now, and it has been a journey with lots of ups and downs.
I want to share emotional experiences from a first-hand experience to help others who are in similar situations navigate this new lifestyle, and to not look at it as a disease or a hardship but to learn to change their outlooks on being a neurodivergent in today’s world and to open their eyes to what someone who is “different” than you may experience on a day to day basis.
I invite you to check in on this site frequently and enjoy and learn from what I have to offer and share with others in this scenario. I am currently registered in a training program to become an autism support coach, and taking an American Sign Language course to better my communication skills with individuals whose speech looks a little bit different than mine. I invite you to reach out in email form if you would like to communicate and connect on topics @intheeyesofautism1130@gmail.com
